A brazen armed robbery attack occurred on April 6, 2025, at approximately 8:30 pm, in the middle of Binaba Road, near Narigu River. Six armed robbers targeted two motorcycle owners, snatching two motorcycles, including a Royal Motor with registration number M-25-UE-1388, two mobile phones, and an undisclosed amount of money.
The victims have been identified as residents of Piigo Supiteed and Gonzesi. This incident has sparked widespread concern, with community leaders calling for increased security measures to prevent such attacks in the future.
In an interview with Media, Hon. Robert Awuluba from Aramkoliga Electoral Area emphasized the need for a Police Intelligence team on the roads to ensure the safety of lives and properties. He also highlighted the importance of streetlights, citing the lack of illumination as a contributing factor to the rising robbery cases in Zebilla and its environs.
They need the authorities to deploy a patrol team on our roads to safeguard our lives and properties. The absence of streetlights provides cover for these robbers, making it easier for them to operate. We cannot continue to live in fear of these armed robbers. Immediate action is necessary,” Hon. Awuluba stated.
An investigation into the incident is currently underway, with authorities urging anyone with information to come forward. Residents are demanding justice for the victims and calling for increased security measures to prevent such incidents.
