ELECTION 2024: PRU EAST NPP IN DISMAY AS NDC PARLIAMENTARY CANDIDATE SHAKES THEIR STRONGHOLDS

 

 

Pru East Constituency in a shocking turn of events, the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Pru East constituency is reeling in dismay as the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate, Hon. Emmanuel Kwaku Boam(Lord Boam) has made significant inroads into their traditional strongholds.

At the constituency, the NDC candidate’s vibrant campaign and message of hope has resonated with the electorates, leading to a surge in support for the opposition party.

It is clear that the NDC has won all elections both Presidential and Parliamentary from 1992 till date of our Democratic dispensation. Notwithstanding that, the NPP as an opposition in the constituency has its dominant areas within the constituency where every election is won by them.

However these strong holds of the NPP is now facing a stiff challenge to maintain its grip in December elections even on power.

At community engagements as part of the NDC campaign, Lord Boam entered Kojo Boffour, Kachawura, Cherepo, Yeji Zongo,Parambo No-1 and the other areas as the Traditional strong holds of the NPP. Members of the community believed to be NPP members eschewed the party orders and attended to NDC PC’s engagement. They explained that they’re yet to hear one policy of their Parliamentary Candidate as a hope for the elections but nothing of that sort.

They further made allegations that, their Parliamentary Candidate has engaged in money sharing, heavy funeral contributions, stiffing behind Assembly activities as his handy works and the likes in attempt to buy the conscience of the electorates but they for see election 2024 is issue based and policy based elections.

The NDC candidate’s campaign has focused on addressing issues such as unemployment, poor roads, and inadequate healthcare, which have been longstanding concerns for voters in the constituency. The candidate’s message of hope and change has struck a chord with many, leading to a significant erosion of support for the NPP.

As the December 2024 elections approach, the NPP is scrambling to regain lost ground and shore up its support base. However, the NDC candidate’s momentum is difficult to stop.

The NDC parliamentary candidate has identified the key issues affecting voters in Pru East and is capitalizing on them.
