Grace, peace, and boundless joy be multiplied to you as we step into this new year.
With hearts full of gratitude and faith, we celebrate the unfailing mercies of our God, who has guided us through the challenges and victories of the year.
This year presents a new chapter, a blank canvas upon which we can boldly write stories of resilience, growth, and empowerment. As women and girls, uniquely created in the image of God, we are called to rise above limitations, to nurture the seeds of excellence planted within, and to shine as beacons of hope and transformation of our families, communities, and the world. In this session, let embrace the truth that we are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14.)
Let us pursue our God given potential with determination, breaking barriers and inspiring others to do the same.
As Esther rose in her time to fulfill her divine assignment, so too we are called upon to courageously stand in our purpose and be the voices of change, hope and love.
To our girls, dream big and know that the Lord delights in your aspirations. To our women, let us continue to mentor, uplift, and champion each other, building a legacy of faith and strength for generations to come.
Together, we can overcome challenges, celebrate victories, fulfill the mission entrusted to us by Christ.
On behalf of the EPCG Women Desk Officer, Facilitators and National Executives of the EPCG Women Ministry, I wish to extend my warm greetings and heartfelt wishes to all women, most especially women of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana, and abroad as we step into this new year, filled with blessings, joy, and unwavering faith. It is a special time for the EPCG Women Ministry, and I am deeply humbled and honored to serve as your National President.
Also, I wish to express my sincere appreciation to all Presbytery Women leaders who believed in my vision that lead to my election in 2024, our predecessors have built the foundation and we as 2024/2027 National Executives will build on their firm foundation and add on.
As we embark on this new chapter, I urge all congregational and presbytery leaders to join hands with us in empowering women within our church. Let us actively engage in mentoring young women, guiding them on their spiritual journeys, and equipping them with the knowledge and skills to become leaders and influencers in their communities.
The EPCG Women Ministry is a cornerstone of our church, a vibrant dosser woven with the threads of faith, love, and service. Just as we recognize the vital roles of our Men’s Ministry, Children’s Ministry, and Youth Ministry, we must acknowledge the invaluable contributions of all women within our church as we are called to be beacons of light in our communities.
Let us embrace our roles as Leaders, Sisters, wives, mothers, mentors, and spiritual guides. Let us actively participate in the life of our church, whether it be through the Women’s Guild, Bible Class, Progressive Women, and any other group you belong to as a woman, These vital groups, when united, form the powerful foundation of our National Women Ministry.
Our ministry encompasses all women, regardless of their age, background, or position within the church. We aim to create an inclusive and supportive environment where every woman feels valued, empowered, and connected to the broader body of Christ.
This year, let us remember the powerful legacy of women who have shaped the course of our faith. Lydia, the businesswoman who opened her home to the early church; Deborah, the judge and prophet who led Israel; Abigail, the wise woman who averted disaster, these women, and many others, remind us of the immense strength, wisdom, and courage that reside in us.
On this note, I am thrilled to congratulate our newly elected Presbyter Executive, Pr. Dr. Mrs. Salome Otami. Her election marks a significant milestone for our church, making her the second woman to ascend to this esteemed position, following in the footsteps of the trailblazing Pr. Lydia Akua Adadjawah.
I acknowledge the courageous steps taken by Presidential candidates over the years who have chosen women as their running mates. Notably Vice President-elect Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang is a testament to the growing recognition of women’s leadership in our nation. Her brief but profound statement “I have now opened the door and will keep it open for everyone” serves as a powerful inspiration for all women, urging us to strive for limitless heights in every sphere of our endeavours.
Together, let us strive to deepen our spiritual growth through prayer, Bible study, and fellowship, we will nurture our relationship with God and strengthen our faith. More so, let us empower women leaders, identify, nurture, and support women with leadership potential, equipping them to serve effectively within the church and beyond. Also, serve our communities as we extend a helping hand to those in need, demonstrating God’s love and compassion through acts of service and outreach, advocate for women’s rights, advocates for justice and equality, ensuring that women have equal opportunities to thrive and flourish. This will give relevance and meaning to the churches theme, “Care for God’s Creation the Task and the Mission of the Church”
I am confident that with your unwavering support, dedication, hardwork and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we will achieve great things together.
Let us strive to be women of influence and impact. Let us support one another, uplift each other, and together, let us build a brighter future for ourselves, our families, our church, and our nation.
May God bless us all abundantly in this new year with love and respect.
