The Zongo caucuse coordinator for Bawku Central Constituency, Mr. Saeed Hasihimiu Bagaya, says the people of Zongo are now wise enough not to be used for causing trouble and atrocities anymore.
According to him, the NPP led by Nana Addo, and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia deceived the people of Zongo with the Zongo Minister, which never functioned to support the people of Zongo but rather using them for any dirty work in this country.
Bagaya added that,John Dramani Mahama and Mahama Ayariga promised the people of Zongo that if they voted for the NDC party, the youth would get employment. But they would not be used for dirty work, as the NPP was using the people of Zongo for such tasks and not providing them with better jobs, such as teaching, nursing, and many others.
Alhaji Ali Suraju, a member of the Upper East Regional Zongo patron for NDC, made a passionate appeal to the president-elect to consider Zongo in his plans to reset the country.
He believes that, with the support of Zongo youth in the 2024 election, Zongo should be part of John Dramani Mahama’s plans in order to address the challenge facing the people of Zongo communities.
Zongo is made up of many tribes mixed up in the area, from various communities. Zongo communities are mostly Muslims dominated areas.
The most popular language speaking in Zongo is Hausa.
